So, it's been a while since I've posted for those few stragglers that might want to see some prolific art that I've been slaving away on well, keep on waiting.

It's been a banner year thus far filled with a few of the biggest moments of joy for me, and the most heart wrenching, down in the dumps shit I've ever been through. Birth, death, marriage, moving, money you name a stress and I am currently wearing it on my face and some are festering in a black spot in my deep heart bottom.

So for my first post of what's left of 2011 let me leave you with two pictures that still make me gush like a fresh cut and sum up all of the above.

Normally I use this blog only to update designy stuff. Yesterday was a special day for my family, and a huge day for my favorite sister. Big days ahead for my sis and I both, but this by far is the biggest and brightest. I can't wait to kiss those cheeks, welcome to the world Kaylee!

It's been a loooong time since I posted anything because I've been resting my ass in a spring meadow on a blanket made of kittens ....or my ass has been busy busting this out. Saence a band from St Louis let me design their debut CD from top to bottom and here is a little sneak peak. All of it was printing by the kick ass studio Vahalla Press here in KC. Big big thanks to Dan for all of his hard work, and cute puppies!

A little something from last year to ring in the New Year. This was a commission for my super talented friend, Jamie S. Rich,that was then given as a Christmas gift to a very talented artist Joelle Jones. Always a bit of pressure doing a piece for another artist. The piece was based on the Movie Notorious by Hitchcock and fantastic piece of movie making featuring Grant and Bergman.

Finally I did a literary piece for my pal Steven, it's been about 5 years coming no doubt (why I rarely do commissions I stink at fitting them in:P) Based on the Alice painting I did for my show. Or at least a tin can. I figured in a downturn ecconomy it's always good to have a plan B. This is mine: a 22' Safari Airstream. If I loose my job and my house without wheels I can just go hobo style and eat and heat out of a can. This isn't exactly the one I bought, but it will look just like this with the polished propane tanks too boot. It's waiting for me in Colorado so when I finally get my grubby hands on it more picts will follow. Big thanks to my Sissy ,Bro-in-law and Bob for getting this together for me...

I'm going in a good direction but still much a do, will post new sketches on that next week. The title will be All Bottled Up, and should be nice and dark just in time for Hallows Eve fun!

So here we are in the winding down days of my show at the Fantastic Mercy Seat Tattoo shop. Again I cannot stress enough what a fantastic and talented shop they are and how generous they have been to me. Especially in these hard times it is important to support local shops and local artists. Ok enough of my soap box. So to say that all of December and January have been a total downer (RIP Grandma, hang in there Stubby!!), fucking negative 5 weather for weeks, broken plumbing (again!!) All is not quite lost. My show at the Mercy seat is ending Feb 4th, I am busy sketching for new Gama-Go swag, and Jamie S Rich lists me as one of his favorite cartoonists :D See below or go HERE

Speaking of Image, I'm good pals with Eric Stephenson, and I love working in his anthologies, so I have two stories in the upcoming book adapting Spearmint songs, This is a Souvenir. One is with newcomer Natalie Nourigat, and the other is with one of my favorite cartoonists, but one who hasn't worked in comics in a while, Kelley Seda. I think these shorts are going to be the next things people will see from me.

Been a loooong time since I posted so all 5 of you out there that need to catch up here ye go...I had my show (big thanks to all that came out it was fantastic), I got sick, hack, cough, zzzz, it got bitter cold, it snowed, I got the Christmas spirit (rah rah), it snowed some more (I love it!!) now three days till my family and a lively pup come to my dirty butt house. On a work front my show will be up at The Mercy Seat till Feb 4th for all that missed and there are some pieces still availble (I think). I am starting sketches for fall of 2009 for Gama-Go, and their stuff does make a loverly xmas gift. And Jamie S. Rich and myself got mention at comicbookresources check it out!

So I am off... this is just a little tiny itsy bitsy preview into the new comic I am working on with Jamie S. Rich. It like everything in my life right now involves the wonderfulness of kittens. On that note, whew last week sucked. Like some sort of poo vortex. Anywhoo, kittens on the mend, finally, and kittens in the story. Oh and I have an offical plan of sorts on my show in December and it involves hands, and bones...ooooo! Art Unleashed

This is my newest piece, it's based on the James Bond movie Octopussy and is painted on an old album cover from the 60's . I was planning on doing a series of these and may still. I like the idea of using the shapes on the cover as a base for the painting, I also like using recycled materials. The coolest thing is it will be auctioned off with oodles of other kick ass art, in a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. The poop scoop on that is: Uptown Theatre tomorrow night 7-10pm, food, drinks etc tickets are $35 at the door and all proceeds help out the lost and lonely aniamls of kc :D
